Alpstria Taxi ("Alpstria", "we", "us", "our") operates the Alpstria Fahrer mobile app ("the App"), an internal work tool provided exclusively to active drivers contracted or employed by Alpstria Taxi (airport transfer service, Innsbruck, Austria). The App is not available for public registration or booking - it is only usable by drivers who already hold a valid Alpstria driver account.
This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, why, and how it is used. By using the App, a driver acknowledges this Policy as part of their existing working relationship with Alpstria.
Information We Collect
Account & Contact Information
- Name, email address, and phone number - used to create and secure your driver account, and to let dispatch and clients reach you (e.g. via WhatsApp or phone call from within the App).
- Login credentials (password) - stored securely (hashed), never in plain text.
Location Data
- Precise (GPS) location - collected only while you have toggled your status to Online in the App, so dispatch can see driver availability and position for job assignment.
- The App requests background location access so your position keeps updating for dispatch while the App is not in the foreground (e.g. screen off, using another app) - but only while you are toggled Online. Turning yourself Offline, or logging out, stops all location collection.
- Location data is used solely for operational dispatch purposes and is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose unrelated to running Alpstria's transfer operations.
Work & Operational Data
- Assigned jobs/bookings: pickup/drop-off details, client name and phone number, flight information, and similar order details needed to complete a transfer.
- Job status updates you make (e.g. marking a job complete, flight delayed, customer no-show) and any notes you add to a booking.
- Settlement/payroll data: cash and card amounts collected, working hours, and related records needed to reconcile your pay with Alpstria.
Chat & Communication Data
- Messages you send and receive through the App's Chat feature (with Alpstria's office), including any photos you attach.
- Your profile photo, if you choose to upload one.
Push Notification Token
- A device push token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) - used only to deliver you job assignment and dispatch notifications. Cleared from our systems when you log out or reset your password.
How We Use Information
All data collected by the App is used exclusively to operate Alpstria's transfer business and manage its driver workforce:
- Assigning and tracking transfer jobs
- Coordinating dispatch based on driver location/availability
- Enabling communication between drivers, the office, and clients
- Processing driver settlements/payroll
- Sending job-related push notifications
- Maintaining account security
The App contains no advertising, and we do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes, ours or anyone else's.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Firebase (Google) - as our push notification delivery provider (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and for map display (Google Maps SDK).
- Clients whose transfer you are assigned - only the information necessary to complete that specific job (e.g. your name and vehicle, so they can identify you).
- Authorities, if required by law.
We do not share your data with any other third party, and never for advertising purposes.
Data Storage & Retention
Your data is stored on Alpstria's own servers for as long as you remain an active driver, and for a reasonable period afterwards to satisfy accounting, payroll, and legal record-keeping obligations. You may request earlier deletion (see "Your Rights" below), subject to any records we are legally required to keep.
Security
We use industry-standard measures (including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit and hashed password storage) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
The App is a professional work tool for adult drivers only and is not directed at, or intended for use by, children.
Your Rights (GDPR)
As an Alpstria driver based in the EU/Austria, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data, subject to legal/accounting retention requirements
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
